With Fabregas playing in a more advanced role, he is free to participate in the offensive moves and has much less to do defensively.
Hiddink was also pleased with the performance of the other players. He also had special praises for Eden Hazard, who scored 2 goals in the game. He believes that the Belgium international will continue to improve and replicate his last season form.
Cesc Fabregas created the first goal with a through ball to Pedro in the 5th minute. The latter could not miss from close range. For the second goal, the Spanish midfielder found Eden Hazard with a clever back-heel and the Belgium international scored his first goal after 29 games.
Bournemouth will manage to get on goal back in the 36th minute thanks to a Tommy Elphick’s header.
The match will reach half-time with the score 2-1. With Bournemouth having nothing to play for, they did not really attempt to get back into the game. Indeed, the match was played at a pedestrian pace at times.
On the 71st minute, Fabregas will provide his 3rd assist of the game when he set up Willian for the third Chelsea goal. In the closing stage of the game, Eden Hazard will score his second goal to make the score 4-1 for Chelsea.
