Fabregas Moves To Chelsea

Back when Fabregas was a player of Arsenal, Arsene Wenger tried to keep the Spanish midfielder at Arsenal for as long as he could but on August of 2011 there was little that Wenger could do to stop Barcelona from signing Fabregas as the club lured him away from the Emirates Stadium.

From the moment that Fabregas joined Barcelona, he stated that it was a dream coming true for him as he had to chance to perform with his Spanish teammates Xavi Hernandez, Andres Iniesta and the rest of the team. His transfer to Camp Nou however has not been as smooth as initially expected as he struggled trying to implant himself into the midfield of the team which led to a number of underwhelming performances.

After all of the trouble and persistence that Barcelona went through trying to sign Fabregas they accomplished it on 2011 but he could only remain at the club for 2 seasons as he is one of the latest players that Chelsea has managed on signing and according to the Australian goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer, Fabregas is going to be able on filling the void left by Frank Lampard.

“It’s a big shame losing someone like Frank Lampard who has been an unbelievable player in the Premier League. He’s a world-class player and it’s a huge loss for Chelsea considering how long he has been at the club, but he’s obviously looking for another challenge. That’s what happens at the top end of the league and at clubs like Chelsea. Players of equal quality replace the old ones.” Chelsea’s Mark Schwarzer admitted.

Diego Costa is the other well-known player that Chelsea was able to sign during the summer transfer window and he is expected to link up alongside Cesc Fabregas and form a partnership that will allow the Premier League club on aiming not only for the league title but the Champions League silverware as well.
